FileTranscriber is an Apple Silicon macOS app that lets you transcribe media files directly from the context menu:

It runs on-device using Whisper, and makes use of the excellent WhisperKit under the hood.

There are a few dials to fiddle with under settings, but for the most part the idea is that you middle click on a media file you want transcribed, click "Transcribe with FileTranscriber" and you get a popup window with the transcription in plaintext, SRT, and VTT when done. Simple!
